The Iowa State Capitol, the seat of the Iowa General Assembly, is located in Iowa’s capital city, Des Moines. The Capitol houses the governor’s offices, legislature, and the old Supreme Courtroom. The building was constructed between 1871 and 1886 and is the only five-domed capitol in the country.

Four smaller domes of simple design rise from the four corners of the Capitol.
