Parus major are birds that live in the forests of mountains and plains. In late spring and early summer, a great Parus major couple made their home in the hollow of a large pine tree. They brought up three children. To keep their young healthy, the great Parus major couple busily shuttles from the nest to the woods from morning to night, catching insects for their young.

One day, Miss. Parus major was carrying a soft caterpillar to go home. She suddenly saw a blue and white snake that is looking out to his door. “Ah!” she gave a cry of surprise, and the soft caterpillar fell from her mouth. She did not dare to pick up the soft caterpillar and flew to the snake and gave it a good peck on the head.

The snake was so angry. He looked around and saw the frightened mother in the trees nearby. The snake concluded that there must be the lark’s young in the nest. Therefore, he endured the pain of the head and probed into the nest again.

“Zai Hey- Zai Hey-Zai Hey”

The great mother shouted again and, once more, she rushed at the snake, and pecked at it over and over.

Mr. Parus major heard the screaming and knew there must be danger around their children and wife. He went home quickly and pecked at the snake with his wife.

The snake had seen the younger tit that was shuddering in the hollow of the tree, and he struggled to swallow them. But the pain, which the sharp beaks pecked to and fro, was too much for him. The snake gave up and fled.

Mr. and Miss. Parus major went into their nest and covered the frightened children under their wings. It was a long time before the trembling bodies of the children calmed down.

Since then, for the sake of the children’s safety, the great couple changed the way they both went out to look for food. When one went out to look for food, the other stayed at home nearby and looked after the children at any time.

……………………………………………Chapter Two – Helping Sincerely……………………………………………..

One day, Mr. and Mrs. Parus major took their children to the woods to look for food. Suddenly, a strange smell came from not far away. Against the wind, the great mother saw a fox that is climbing up the trunk of an old elm tree. The great mother looked up at the tree, finding that the tree has a magpie nest.

She understood that the fox would like to steal and eat their children when Mr. and Mrs. Pica pica wasn’t at home.

She screamed again and Mr. Paru’s major went home quickly.

The couple had a brief communication in the air as they flew. Then they split up. The mother went home to take care of her three children, and the father shouted loudly and rushed at the fox. When he got to the fox, the father flapped his wings and pounced on the fox.

However, the fox was surprised but don’t care. He still climbed towards the magpie’s nest.

The Mr. Parus major didn’t give up and struggle with the fox.

At that time, Mr. and Mrs. Pica pica went home. They saw and also joined the fight.

Fox was scared of falling down from the tree and ran away.

Mr. and Mrs. Parus major told their experience about caring children dividedly to the Mr. and Mrs. Pica pica. The couple accepted and thanks them to save their children.

How time flies! The annual bird kingdom contest about choosing an excellent citizen has begun.

After a public vote, the great Parus majors were unanimously elected as excellent citizens of the bird kingdom.

Both the UW men and women rowing teams will attend all races in the Husky Open.

Regatta that features both masters and youth races with many local teams. Such as the Seattle University women and WSU and other universities rowing teams.

All participants set themselves up well for the Husky Open in two weeks’ time.

Opening Day tends to be a great time for the Huskies crew and a great way to show off high-level rowing skills.
