Our custom lapel pins are made in GS-JJ's own manufacturing facilities. Our in-house production capabilities allow us to manage key production steps and maintain consistent quality across custom orders.

Custom lapel pins are typically made through four main stages: mold creation and stamping, plating, color filling and baking, and polishing.

First, the digital design is converted into a physical mold and stamped into the metal. The pin is then plated with the selected metal finish, filled with enamel when applicable, baked, polished, and inspected before packaging.

The exact process varies depending on the pin type and customization method.

No. GS-JJ has no minimum order quantity for custom lapel pins, so you can order as few as one pin. A custom pin requires a one-time mold fee, regardless of quantity. Because this fixed cost is spread across the order, larger quantities generally have a lower cost per pin. The same-design mold is stored for two years, so you generally do not need to pay the mold fee again when reordering within that period. 

Custom lapel pins come with free standard poly-bag packaging, with each pin individually wrapped to help prevent scratches during transit.

Premium packaging options, including velour pouches, plastic boxes, and velour boxes, are also available. Custom printed paper cards can be added for branded packaging or retail presentation.

The main difference is the surface finish: hard enamel pins have a smooth, level surface, while soft enamel pins have recessed color areas that create a textured feel. Both use raised metal outlines to separate colors. Choose enamel pins for raised metal details and a classic collectible look; choose printed pins for detailed artwork, gradients, photos, or tighter budgets. 

Printed pins typically offer more freedom for gradients and fine image details, while enamel pins create distinct raised metal lines and color-filled areas.

Yes. You can send a sketch, photo, logo, or written idea, and the GS-JJ design team can prepare production-ready artwork and a digital proof. Standard design assistance and proofing are free, and production does not begin until you approve the proof. Complex illustration or special licensing requirements should be discussed before the order is confirmed.

Review the digital proof carefully for spelling, colors, size, plating, attachments, and layout, then reply to the proof email or contact your sales representative with clear approval. Production begins only after approval is recorded. If changes are needed, list them before approving and request a revised proof.

Yes. A standard rubber clutch or military clutch is typically included with each custom lapel pin. Premium options—including deluxe clutches, magnets, safety pins, tie-tack backs, and cufflink fittings—are available at additional cost. The number and placement of posts may vary with the pin's size, shape, weight, and intended use.

You can request artwork revisions before approving the final proof. If you need to cancel, contact GS-JJ immediately; eligibility for a refund depends on the order status and whether design, tooling, production, or other nonrecoverable work has started.

Contact GS-JJ as soon as possible and provide your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photos or video. The team will compare the delivered pins with the approved proof and order specifications. For verified manufacturing defects or significant production errors, GS-JJ will review the appropriate remedy under the current after-sales policy, such as replacement, remake, or refund.

GS-JJ generally stores a paid custom lapel pin mold for two years from the original order. Reorders placed within that period may be able to reuse the mold when the design and specifications remain unchanged. Contact GS-JJ before reordering to confirm that the mold is still available and suitable for the new quantity or finish.
