2. Align the patch: Set the glue-coated side directly against the garment. Place a clean cotton cloth, baking parchment, or heat-resistant sheet over the design to prevent direct contact with the iron.

3. Activate the backing: Hold the iron steadily in one position and apply firm downward pressure. Follow the temperature and duration recommended for your specific patch and fabric rather than moving the iron across the surface.

4. Strengthen the attachment: When the material permits, reverse the garment and heat the underside of the patched area for an additional 20 seconds. This encourages the melted backing to grip the fabric more evenly.

5. Allow the bond to set: Leave the item flat and untouched for at least five minutes. Wait until both the fabric and patch have returned to room temperature before checking the corners.
