How to Sew On a Patch?
Position Your Patch
Lay the garment flat and place the patch in your desired location. Check its alignment and make sure you can access the fabric underneath without sewing through pockets or unintended layers.
Secure It in Place
Hold the patch in position with sewing clips, suitable pins or temporary basting stitches. Keep it flat against the fabric so it does not shift or wrinkle as you sew.
Sew Around the Edge
Use small, even stitches around the patch’s suitable sewing edge. Stitch through both the patch and the intended fabric layer. For PVC patches with a sewing channel, follow the channel around the perimeter.
Finish and Check
Secure the thread with a knot when hand sewing, or backstitch when machine sewing. Trim loose threads and gently check the edges for gaps or lifting. Add stitches where needed for a secure finish.
