What is the Feature of Army Medals?

Army medals highest to lowest usually have some features as follows. A five-pointed star made by gold is decorated with clover. Diagonal is 1 inch wide, and the five-star is surrounded by green bay leaves. Above it, it hangs a small brand writing “VALOR (brave)”, where an eagle spreading the wings stands on.

Minerva's head in the five-star is surrounded by "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". In each angle of the five-star, there is a small oak leaf. The opposition of a small sign with "VALOR" (brave) is engraved with "THE CONGRESS TO", and left a carved place. In military units, any type of badge is worn as a separate group, and the right side of the uniform is worn from right to left. The Introduce of Army's Reward

Its history goes back to the period of the American Civil War in 1862. On July 12, 1862, after the US Navy, the US Army introduced the Medal of Valor into the Army's reward system, which was later collectively called the Medal of Honor and became the highest honor for all US soldiers.

The members of the Navy, Air Force and Air Force are all eligible for this honor, and each service has its own unique design. It was issued in person by the President of the United States, who is the Supreme Commander of the United States Armed Forces.

The Creation of Army Medals

Army medals were created by an act of Congress on July 2nd, 1926 because of the War Department, but the first awards were not presented until October 17th, 1927. The Minister of War advised the quartermaster to prepare a draft of the appropriate Army Medal based on the letter of August 11, 1926, signed by the Lieutenant. Hereafter, the act of army personalized medals is getting better every day.

Eligibility for such a medal is not limited to US citizens. 61 Canadians who served in the U.S. military have received this honor medal and most of them during the American Civil War.
